Channel Chat: HP Networking talks data center network architecture

HP Networking Channel Americas vice president Armughan Ahmad discusses data center network architecture and how to tackle Cisco, switching commoditization and mobility.

Battle of the channel chiefs: This is the first in a series of interviews with channel heads from leading networking vendors.

Like most networking vendors, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Networking has focused its channel message this year around data center network architecture.

Yet if selling into the data center network were as easy as telling an architecture story, the lives of HP Networking channel partners might be simple. Instead HP partners must tell a story that differentiates HP's technology from Cisco's – and doing it on price alone may not work. What's more, HP Networking channel partners must also sell basic networking components in a market in which switching is quickly becoming commoditized.

In this podcast, HP Networking Channel America vice president Armughan Ahmad outlines, HP's flex network architecture story, which spans the edge, distribution and core, and  he discusses  how HP’s Partner One and Expert One programs can help HP Networking channel partners sell that message.

Ahmad also explains the role that mobility plays in delivering data center services – and how channel partners can sell that strategy.

Listen to the podcast with Armughan to hear more about how both HP and HP’s partner program are growing, and what partners can expect from HP in the future.
