Sue Barsamian, senior vice president and general manager of worldwide indirect sales at HP, is moving out of her channel leadership role to become the senior vice president of enterprise security products for HP Software, according to an internal organizational announcement today.
In her current position with HP's Enterprise Group since September 2013, Barsamian was responsible for driving sales and productivity through the company's channel partners, including resellers, distributors, alliance partners and OEMs.
A veteran with HP, the channel chief began her tenure with the company in 2006 as vice president of global operations with HP Software. In her new role, Barsamian reports to Robert Youngjohns, executive vice president and general manager of HP Software, and will be responsible for the overall go-to-market strategy for Enterprise Security Products, as well as the delivery of security products and services, according to the vendor.
HP will look for a replacement for the channel leadership position. Until someone is found, Barsamian will act as channel chief while also assuming her new position.
With the transition of HP into two companies -- HP Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise -- the vendor has seen the departure and reshuffling of many company executives. Most recently, Barsamian's boss, Bill Veghte, executive vice president and general manager of HP's Enterprise Group, announced in late June that he was leaving the company.
This month, Veghte became CEO of SurveyMonkey Inc., based in Palo Alto, Calif., replacing the late David Goldberg.
