Security Mentor intros channel program for IT security awareness training

This week in the IT channel, Security Mentor unveiled a partner program for its IT security awareness training; Unidesk bolstered its channel program; and more.

IT security awareness training provider Security Mentor has introduced the Security Mentor Global Partner Program, a new channel program for value-added resellers, distributors and system integrators to sell the company's training.

The program has three tiers -- Silver, Gold and Platinum -- and offers sales tools, marketing resources, and educational support services. Partners can also take advantage of co-operative marketing and demand generation activities.

Marie White, CEO and president of Security Mentor, said the company decided to launch the channel program after observing increasing interest in IT security awareness training from prospective customers. "Security awareness training, in general, is [needed] across all markets," White said. Security Mentor sees high interest from verticals with regulatory compliance concerns, such as financial services, oil and gas, and healthcare, as well as from organizations looking to protect intellectual property or that work with customers that have compliance requirements, such as law firms and advertising firms, she noted.

"I think the channel opportunity is huge," said Carrie Roberts, director of global channel sales at Security Mentor. "As you see in 2014, it's one of the biggest data breach years we've ever had, and 2015 is expected to be even worse. And what you're seeing is that the channel has the opportunity now to have those [security] discussions with their clients."

Unidesk enhances partner program

Unidesk, a provider of desktop and application management software for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and cloud, has expanded the Unidesk Solution Partner program for value-added resellers (VARs), system integrators and service providers. Benefits o f the enhanced program include lead generation, sales enablement, education and training, and access to the Unidesk team.

The expansion of the Unidesk partner program comes shortly after the company bolstered support for its product base. "In March of this year, we added support for Microsoft Hyper-V, which enabled us to then offer our management solution for Citrix Xen Desktop, Microsoft VDI and VMware, as well," said Samantha Foster, vice president of alliances and channel at Unidesk. "As we moved this open platform support, we're seeing increasing interest from solution providers, as well as partners within the Citrix and Microsoft channel, and we wanted to ensure that our program would meet the needs of those new partners."
