Distributor Ingram Micro Inc. made a number of announcements this week at the ONE Ingram Micro event in Las Vegas.
Ingram Micro Cloud, a global division of Ingram Micro, announced a new agreement with infrastructure as a service provider SoftLayer, an IBM company. The agreement provides SoftLayer cloud services to Ingram Micro and IBM partners within the U.S. For Ingram Micro partners that are focused on building cloud products, the distributor said it will provide its cloud onboarding capabilities, marketing support and end-to-end technical and operational support.
Ingram Micro also revealed it has expanded its portfolio of unified communication and collaboration (UCC) technology and professional services. Ingram Micro said it will support partners to further the adoption of UCC technology in North America's small and midsize enterprises, providing partners with the support of a growing team of UCC market specialists, sales experts and technology solution engineers. Partners will also have access to value-added services both pre- and post-sales, including design and quoting support, targeted voice and video readiness network assessments, implementation services, device management and on-site support services.
Having maintained a preferred distributor relationship with Citrix since 2008, Ingram Micro announced it has earned the title of Citrix Authorized Learning Center, which allows Ingram Micro to enable Citrix partners to improve in selling, installing and supporting Citrix technology. Additionally, Ingram Micro announced it has earned the title of HP ExpertOne Learning Partner. The distributor will now offer HP ExpertOne courses for HP Enterprise Group and Printing and Personal Systems globally.
At ONE Ingram Micro, the distributor told partners it has expanded its U.S. vertical market strategy to now include retail and finance. A dedicated team of business, marketing, sales and technology solutions and services experts will provide support, and Ingram Micro partners will have access to subject matter experts who are experienced with retail and finance vertical markets.
Tech Data expands SoftLayer cloud agreement
At Tech Data Corp.'s Channel Link event in Orlando, Fla., this week, the distributor revealed it has expanded its distribution agreement with IBM to offer SoftLayer cloud technology to Tech Data solution providers throughout the U.S. and Europe.
The distributor also signed a new distributor agreement with Kanex, a provider of Apple and iOS connectivity solutions for homes and businesses worldwide. The agreement gives Tech Data Solution providers throughout the U.S. and Latin America access to Kanex products.
Continuum opens online forum for partners
At Navigate 2014, Continuum's inaugural partner event in Boston this week, Continuum launched Collaborate, a private forum for its 3,500 managed service provider partners. The new forum gives partners a secure online platform to freely connect, share and learn, Continuum said.
Built with Get Satisfaction, the Collaborate platform replaces the company's current partner support portal, uses single sign-on and offers a range of collaboration features.
Independence IT completes Cloud Workspace Suite integration with AWS
Desktop as a service vendor Independence IT has integrated its Cloud Workspace Suite on Amazon Web Services (AWS), expanding its cloud infrastructure options for enterprises and service providers.
The Cloud Workspace Suite is built to interface with a variety of cloud infrastructure options, including AWS, Google Computer Engine, Microsoft Azure and Artisan Infrastructure. The deployment on Amazon and its other cloud infrastructure partners allows Cloud Workspace Suite provider partners to federate data centers with outsourced cloud infrastructure for scalability, efficiency and cost containment, the vendor said.
ScreenConnect integrates with Naverisk
Naverisk remote monitoring and management and Service Desk platform users now have the option of launching a ScreenConnect Remote Control session directly from the Naverisk Web console. On Monday, the companies announced the integration of their IT management products, which will be available in the Naverisk 2014 R2 release in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Seven10 offers Premier Handshake Partner Program
Seven10 Storage Software, an enterprise storage software company and cloud-based information lifecycle management software developer, now offers a ramped-up Premier Handshake Partner Program.
The Premier Handshake Partner Program is a single-tier program and has no revenue minimums to participate. Partner benefits include competitive pricing, pre- and post-sale support for partners and clients, a lead referral program, access to tradeshow participation, and promotion on Seven10's website.
The partner program also provides enrollment into Seven10's Perfect 10 sales performance incentive fund (SPIF). The SPIF program rewards reps with $1,000 for deals that close at $10,000 or more. Larger deals that close or reps who bring repeated deals to Seven10 result in more creative SPIF compensations, Seven10 said. These compensations will be worked out according to the rep's preferences and can include car leases, expense-paid trips or larger SPIF checks.
Spiceworks App Center delivers CompTIA CertMaster app
Access to CompTIA CertMaster, an online learning product for IT skills, has expanded with a new partnership between CompTIA and Spiceworks. A free CompTIA CertMaster app is now available for registered CertMaster clients through the Spiceworks App Center, which was launched Tuesday.
