Intermedia partners gain app integration options; more news

Intermedia this week said its partner portal can be integrated with cloud IT services, business applications; plus, Microsoft diversity study, more.

Intermedia simplifies reselling cloud services

This week, hosted application provider Inc. announced that partners can integrate its partner portal with cloud IT services and business applications, such as QuickBooks, Salesforce and ConnectWise, to simplify reselling cloud services.

The addition of the new customer relationship management, accounting and business management application integration with Intermedia's partner portal is offered free of charge and requires about 30 minutes to set up each one, according to the company.

Intermedia partners with more than 14,000 MSPs and VARs and offers a private-label model to resell cloud services such as Exchange, hosted PBX, SecuriSync and more.

Microsoft launches diversity study

Microsoft will launch a diversity focus study for U.S. partners, according to a recent blog post by Jenni Flinders, vice president of Microsoft U.S. Partner Group.

The study will be conducted through the vendor's People for Innovation group on its U.S. Partner Community Yammer network. The goal of the study and group is to bolster the traction of the diversity event that Microsoft holds annually at its Worldwide Partner Conference.

Over the coming weeks, Microsoft hopes to engage its U.S. partners and Microsoft professionals in discussions on diversity via questions that it will post to the Yammer group. The vendor will also release findings from the questions and encourage dialog about them.

Microsoft WPC 2014 is being held in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., July 13 to 17.

Verio partners with independenceIT

Hosting company Verio will leverage Cloud Workspace Suite, a Desktop as a Service offering from independenceIT, the DaaS platform provider announced this week.

The licensing agreement between the companies enables Verio to offer independenceIT's DaaS product as a monthly subscription via Verio's IT service platform. According to Verio, it will integrate the Cloud Workspace Suite's management and provisioning engine into its service portfolio via Cloud Workspace's application programming interface.

Verio will manage service delivery through its existing management tools while integrating and automating desktop and application provisioning, deployment, and support functions, according to the company.

Citrix planning webinar on the DaaS business opportunity

DaaS is a growing opportunity for MSPs that today offer remote desktop, telephone or IT services to customers, and Citrix is offering a business- and technical-focused webinar on the topic for partners.

The webinar, titled "Expanding service provider business: Why Desktops as a Service, hosted applications, mobility services and file sharing are the new normal for cloud providers," is on April 1 at 8 a.m. PST/11 a.m. EST, according to the vendor.

Attendees will learn about providing hosted desktops, applications and mobility services with Citrix to grow cloud revenue.
