Asigra partners look to fill gaps left by Symantec's Backup Exec.Cloud shutdown
Asigra Inc. this week announced offers from five members of its Hybrid Cloud Backup Partner Ecosystem to attract customers of Symantec Backup Exec.Cloud to an Asigra-based cloud backup environment, following news last month that Symantec will shut down its cloud backup service in early 2015. The offers -- from AssureVault, Backup Technology Ltd., BUMI, e-Ternity and SecureStore -- include financial incentives, migration services and consulting.
Asigra does not run, host or operate its own cloud backup services, but sells software to enable service providers, managed services providers and VARs to do so.
Infrascale rolls out new cloud-based endpoint data protection service
Data protection and file sharing vendor Infrascale Inc. this week released its EndGuard service for endpoint data protection and management. The El Segundo, Calif., company said the centrally managed, cloud-based product is aimed at midsize and large enterprises seeking help with the risks of data residing on desktops, laptops and smartphones.
The tool, which combines automated backup and data loss prevention capabilities accessible from one dashboard view, can be administered by internal IT staff or delivered as a managed service.
The product can be white-labeled by managed service providers offering backup and data protection services.
Avnet releases Healthcare Analytics Platform
Avnet Technology Solutions yesterday announced its Healthcare Analytics Platform at the HP Discover conference in Barcelona, Spain.
According to Avnet, the platform, which is built on HP's HAVEn big data system, will help solution providers integrate a customer's medical, operational and financial data from multiple systems, to generate a single, secure view of a patient's information.
The Healthcare Analytics Platform will be available to U.S. and Canadian partners of Avnet.
Total Defense launches new partner program for MSPs
Security vendor Total Defense Inc. on Wednesday announced its new partner program aimed at MSPs. Total Defense, which is based in Redwood City, Calif., offers cloud-based Web, email and endpoint security services the Total Defense for Business service, with capabilities including advanced endpoint antimalware and application controls, Web filtering, and antispam and email threat prevention.
The Total Defense for Business service can be white-labeled by MSPs.
dinCloud signs on with Arrow Electronics
Cloud services provider dinCloud this week announced that distributor Arrow Electronics will offer dinCloud's hosted virtual desktops, servers and storage to customers through Arrow ECS' ArrowSphere online marketplace.
Arrow will also distribute dinCloud's webHVD, a clientless Web application extension that enables users to provision a turnkey desktop on Windows-, Mac OS X-, Linux- or Chromebook-based devices, according to dinCloud, which is based in Gardena, Calif.
Commence hires Phoenix Fire to develop channel
CRM vendor Commence Corp., which is based in Eatontown, N.J., this week announced that it has signed business development company Phoenix Fire Inc. to recruit and build a channel program for Commence's new cloud-based CRM service.
Commence has an existing channel, but it "consists of very technical professionals that write code on top of our Windows-based software," said Commence CEO Larry Caretsky in an email exchange. The new program will be recruited for by Phoenix Fire, which is based in Ayer, Mass., and will focus on partners engaged around Software as a Service (SaaS), he said.
InnoviMobile to bring mobile app development to SHI International customers
Mobile app developer InnoviMobile this week announced a partnership with solution provider SHI International, of Somerset, N.J., to deliver turnkey mobile app development, using InnoviMobile's InnoviStart Jumpstart program, for SHI's enterprise, corporate, government and education customers. The deal is targeted at customers that are integrating cloud computing and mobility into their operations and need mobile applications to improve productivity, reduce costs and deliver better customer service capabilities.
InnoviStart is a cost-effective way, through a collaborative project development process, to produce application prototypes, according to InnoviMobile, which is based in Piscataway, N.J. The program provides needs analysis, identifies integration with enterprise information systems and enables design of the app user interface, among other functions.
Social networking startup launches Elite Partner Program
ViewDo Labs, a Boston-area startup that focuses on visibility and analytics for internal social networks, this week announced its Elite Partner Program, along with its first partner, BrightStarr, a SharePoint consultancy with offices throughout the United States and around the globe.
