Ingram Micro names SMB 500

Ingram Micro Inc.’s top 2013 SMB 500 partners, named this week at the distributor’s 2013 Fall SMB Invitational held in Glendale, Ariz., not only gained top ranking in the distributor's second annual list of the fastest-growing channel partners in the U.S. but demonstrated that selling services is the way to go. The ranking was based on revenue growth measured by sales through Ingram Micro.

The Ingram Micro SMB 500 research, facilitated by The 2112 Group, a channel research and consulting company, provided insight on the winning business models and trends of Ingram Micro's partner community at a time when channel partners are rethinking how they do business in a fast-moving technology marketplace.

The top five partners who focus on the SMB market -- companies with 250 or fewer employees -- are Enhanced Network Solutions Group Inc., Omega Systems, Arizona Resource Specialists LLC, United Technology Group LLC and Seweltech Inc. Ranking is based on a pool of more than 20,000 U.S. solution providers that work with Ingram Micro’s SMB business.

Some of the latest trends from the SMB 500 research show that members of the list had an average growth rate of sales through Ingram Micro of almost 250 percent from June 2010 to June 2013. Channel partners on the list whose business focus is selling services trump those stuck in a break/fix model.

Vertical industry specialists outperformed IT generalists, with business growth that was 380 percent faster. The research also showed that VARs and MSPs who manage credit lines and financial services saw significant improvements within their businesses.

And, Ingram Micro partners who involved themselves with the distributor’s SMB Alliance, VentureTech Network or System ArchiTECHS communities also reported higher year-over-year growth rates.
