At Cisco Live 2011 in Las Vegas, Cisco made several announcements—some exciting, some a bit underwhelming. One of the more intriguing discussions was that of Cisco Quad and Cisco Cius, Cisco’s stab at social networking and tablet technology.
Much hype has been made of the Cius and how it is completely different than competitive tablets, so users and the press were anxious to get their hands on the device and explore the new technology.
I got a chance to play with the Cius and navigate through the Quad, the social networking technology. Cisco stressed the idea that the Cius and Quad are geared toward the enterprise first and not consumers. The question is: Will Cisco’s angle work?
I wonder if channel partners will pick up what Cisco is putting down. The company is touting its tablet and collaboration technology as having an edge over others, but will partners have any success selling it? Here's my take in this video blog.
