Hyperic monitoring bonds with vCenter, cloud-hosted apps may entice customers
The new Hyperic monitoring release features strong integration with VMware vCenter Server, but its real value to solutions providers may lie in its cloud computing capabilities.
Hyperic can now monitor cloud-hosted applications that run on SpringSource's Java-based platform, according to SearchServerVirtualization.com. A year ago, VMware acquired SpringSource as well as Hyperic.
The connection between Hyperic 4.4 and vCenter is important to customers because it provides a clear view of a virtual environment without having Hyperic and vCenter open simultaneously. New Hyperic features include consistent monitoring of VMware vSphere ESX and ESXi hosts and virtualization-aware alerting.
