Gartner Inc. predicts that Software as a Service worldwide revenue should reach $7.5 billion in 2009 -- a 17.7% increase from $6.4 billion in 2008.
Despite the state of the economy, the market is expected to continue to grow through 2013, and Software as a Service (SaaS) revenue should pass $14 billion for enterprise application markets.
SaaS revenues are expected to continue to be a large part of the content, communications and collaboration market and the customer relationship management (CRM) market. SaaS is estimated to have almost 24% of the total software revenue for the CRM market for 2009.
