Virtualization skills hot, hot, hot

IT experts with virtualization skills -- especially VMware virtualization skills -- make more money and find jobs more easily than IT pros without such skills, according to HR experts.

This year, IT job postings on the online IT job board fell 42%. But the number of postings requesting virtualization and VMware skills remained flat. The online job posting site reports that virtualization skills are the most sought technology skills, second only to security.

Adobe branches out with Omniture buy

Adobe Systems' decision to buy Omniture for $1.8 billion brings Adobe into the world of website performance tracking. That's quite a departure from the company's core expertise in development tools, graphics design and publishing software. Omniture is used by online websites to monitor and analyze traffic.

Yahoo accounts cracked

Attackers are bypassing the traditional Web login interface pages instead seeking backdoors into those accounts, according to

Such attackers targeted Yahoo and got account passwords using automated password-cracking scripts on a Yahoo Web services-based authentication application thought to be used by Internet service providers and third-party Web applications, according to the Web Application Security Consortium Distributed Open Proxy Honeypots project. The honeypots track brute force attacks that have successfully targeted account credentials of Yahoo mail users.
