Train and transform: New classes from CompTIA

Training courses geared to keep IT channel partners skilled and current have been a staple offering from CompTIA since 2011, and the recently released IT Channel Training Guide for Spring 2015 continues that tradition with the addition of three new courses that focus on business transformation.

The new courses are the Quick Start Session to Business Agility, the Quick Start Session to Understanding Your Balance Sheet, and the CompTIA Executive Certificate in Financial Management. These offerings are just a few of more than a dozen training options that focus on the theme of business transformation. The addition of new material for partners doesn’t stop there. CompTIA also added new content in its managed services and vertical markets tracks.

The Spring 2015 training guide for channel partners includes training guides, executive certificates, training quick starts, training playbooks and market intelligence sessions among other content delivery options. The guide covers topics such as cloud, IT security, managed services, mobility, social strategies, tech convergence and vertical markets.

In a recent article in SearchITChannel, industry experts agreed that partners who stay current with training, certifications and specializations are best positioned to keep pace with changes in the IT industry.

The new Quick Start Session to Business Agility is for partners who have business growth in mind. The session looks at market dynamics, how to evaluate market developments and their impact on business strategy, how to identify trends in business performance and how to handle business change.

The Quick Start Session to Understanding Your Balance Sheet covers a number of topics to help channel companies maintain a strong balance sheet. Those topics include cash flow and working capital trends, popular misconceptions and monthly management processes. Focusing on strengthening financial acumen, the Executive Certificate in Financial Management is a full day workshop consisting of four segments: The Art of the Deal; Building Cash IQ; Understanding your P&L Statement; and Understanding your Balance Sheet.

Attendees will learn how to mine business reports for business intelligence, implement best practices to maximize profitability and develop strategies for healthy sustainable growth, according to CompTIA.

The latest offering in the Managed Services track is a Quick Start Session to Managing a Managed Services Sales Organization. The session’s content focuses on how to build, operate and manage a successful sales organization.

Two new channel training courses in the vertical track include a Quick Start Session to Education IT and a Quick Start Session to eHealth.
