Tech Data Corp. today introduced a special pricing agreement tool, My S.P.A. Tracker, which is available to all resellers. The proactive tool is designed to increase revenue for partners by notifying them of revenue-boosting sales opportunities, according to the distributor.
Tech Data has always had special pricing agreements — agreements between vendors and partners administered by the distributor — but never an easy way to communicate all opportunities.
“We get S.P.A.s every day from vendors and put them in our system. Depending [on] if the reseller is on the ball and asks about it, or our sales rep says, ‘Hey, I got this S.P.A. for you,’ that was as good as it got,” said David Spindler, director of E-business at Tech Data.
Money has been left on the table for years — thousands of dollars, he noted. Or, more specifically, today only 31% of S.P.A.s are used in any given month.
Well, tracking S.P.A.s just got a whole lot easier.
Available through techdata.com or SMB.techdata.com, My S.P.A. Tracker allows resellers to set up rules for each vendor’s S.P.A., including notifications for agreements that are new, expiring or recently modified. Partners can also direct notification delivery to specific people in their organization.
“The product proactively gives partners insight into what opportunities they have — where a vendor is giving them money to go and close an opportunity,” Spindler said.
