Today, Symantec acknowledged that John Eldh, vice president for channel sales for the Americas and North American channel chief is leaving the company as of Aug. 29, after a seven-year tenure with Symantec. He served as North American channel chief since April 2013.
The vendor is notifying channel partners about Eldh’s departure and to ensure continuity as they continue to do business with Symantec, according to a company statement.
In May, Garrett Jones, Symantec channel chief for 15 months, sought greener pastures to become the vice president of sales at Spanning Cloud Apps. Jones’ departure from Symantec followed on the heels of the firing of Symantec CEO Steve Bennett in March after a short stint as head honcho at the company. He was hired in July 2013 and left in March 2014.
In April, just prior to Jones’ departure from Symantec, he explained in an interview with SearchITChannel why the company’s new channel program rollout was going slowly.
He referred to the new program design as iterative with a lot of partner inclusion and three specific validation rounds of tweaks and adjustments. According to a company FAQ for Symantec partners, the redesigned partner program is anticipated to become operational beginning in October 2014.
Symantec did not indicate who would lead the North American channel after Eldh’s departure.
