Google fails; panic ensues

The reporters in my row are agog as the Google news outage continues.

Folks wanted to know which  alternative search engine to use. The consensus winner was Ask.com, although Altavista and Yahoo got a few votes. Note the lack of clamor for Microsoft Live Search. That is probably not an anomaly.

Can agile change how the enterprise operates?
Cancel

It seems intuitive that Agile can change an enterprise, but the degree to which that change impacts the organization is the question.

If a software development business organization adopts Agile (from, say, Waterfall) one would anticipate significant bottom-line impact.

If an insurance business organization (and their application development shop) adopts Agile one may anticipate less bottom-line impact.

Why? In the first case the engine which drives the corporate bottom-line is changed significantly. In the second, the corporate profit engine remained unchanged.

In both cases I would argue Agile changes how the organization operates, if only from a resources perspective - though there are many other ways an organization changes when moving to Agile, resources are one of the simplest illustrations.

All the Best!!!

The potential is certainly there. It cannot, however become a religious crusade. Communication is key. What is it we are wanting to accomplish? How are we to proceed?....etc. Like any approach, it cannot be force fed. For an agile enterprise approach to succeed it must be transparent and earn its way past the critics through results.

Yes, if the communication is done honestly
