EMC debuts channel-oriented VMAX 100K expansion for VSPEX

LAS VEGAS – In the flurry of new product announcements and product upgrades being made here at EMC World 2015 and EMC Partner Summit 2015, of particular interest to channel partners was the expansion of EMC’s VSPEX converged infrastructure portfolio to include the EMC VMAX 100K enterprise data services platform.

The VSPEX product line expansion with VMAX 100K is available exclusively through EMC VSPEX-enabled business partners. VSPEX is a set of reference architectures that incorporate EMC storage and backup products along with server, virtualization and network components from vendors such as Brocade, Cisco, Citrix, Intel, Lenovo, Microsoft and VMware.

The VMAX 100K expands EMC’s VSPEX converged infrastructure portfolio with a new architecture, the company’s Hypermax storage operating system and lower total cost of ownership (TCO). The VMAX 100K, like other products in the VSPEX portfolio, lets partners offer customers a way to bridge their VMware private cloud deployment with public clouds.

Karl Connolly, VSPEX product manager at EMC, noted that VSPEX with VMAX 100K lets customers scale with up to 30% lower TCO and high application availability for mission critical workloads. The device also offers customers hyper-consolidation and the ability to scale to 2,800 virtual machines .

The VSPEX with VMAX 100K is currently available.
