Because you mention the Cisco 3002, a VPN hardware client, I assume your customer wants to connect the two offices with a VPN. Your best choice is almost certainly IPsec. It will transparently connect the two offices and carry any IP-based protocol. PPTP is a deprecated technology and not very secure; it should never be used when serious VPN security is needed.
