Standard Industrial Classification Code

- The Standard Industrial Classification Code is a category within the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)system, which was established to classify all industries in the US economy. The SIC code is displayed as a two-digit code that designates a major industry group coupled with a second two-digit code designates a subcategory. The SIC system is administered by the Statistical Policy Division of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
