Battle of the channel chiefs: This is the second in a series of interviews with channel heads from leading networking vendors. In part 1, HP Networking talks data center network architecture.
In the years since Brocade acquired Foundry Networks and moved into enterprise networking, company executives have worked hard to bring a full networking story to their channel partners. This year, that message centered around a new data center fabric, cloud enablement and the transition to IPv6.
In this podcast, Barbara Spicek, vice president of global channels at Brocade, outlines channel initiatives to prepare partners for cloud enablement. Brocade is prepping partners to both build private data centers and resell cloud services. Spicek dives into detail on Brocade's data center network fabric, unified management of a flattened network and building networks for virtualization.
Finally, Spicek touches on hot button networking topics that affect all vendors and their channel partners, including building a multivendor network, how to survive the commoditization of switching and where the margins lie in a fast-changing market.
