Offering SMB networking services can be lucrative for many reasons. For one, SMBs are often the earliest adopters of new technology because it's much easier to change a 10-seat company's mobile phones than it is to change a 2,000-seat enterprise's phones. It's also easier for SMBs to make purchasing decisions, whereas with enterprises, decisions can take months. And with more and more people going into business for themselves, there is never a shortage of customers.
Some vendors are recognizing this. Cisco recently upgraded its SMB Select program with extra training and products. This program provides incentives and advice to networking partners who service SMBs.
In this Channel Chat, we sat down with Rick Norberg, president of Atrion SMB, a division of Atrion Networking. Rick discusses the creation of Atrion SMB, the need for SMB networking services, and vendor relations.
