Finally, let's review some cloud storage statistics for nonbackup use. Survey respondents have, on average, 17 TB of data stored in the cloud, an increase from fall 2011's 16 TB, but a decrease from spring 2012's 19 TB. And in the fall 2012 survey, 29% of respondents had more than 20 TB in the cloud, compared with 27% of respondents in the fall 2011 survey

Twenty percent of respondents said that they had already implemented private cloud, while 18% said they already have implemented or will implement hybrid cloud products in 2012. And 20% of respondents said that cloud storage is already a big part of their storage infrastructures, while 25% said it would play a major role in future plans.
