Hello, and welcome to SearchITChannel.com, one of TechTarget's five new sites for resellers, systems integrators, technology consultants and other independent solution providers generally referred to by IT vendors as "the channel." As someone who's worked in the channel – for a value-added reseller and for a systems integrator – I'm excited about the opportunity to not only present important news and information here for the channel community, but to take on an advocacy role for channel professionals with IT suppliers and distributors. Our goal is to provide you with the information and tools you need to succeed in the constantly shifting landscape of the technology industry, and to give you a way to get answers to questions you wish you could ask vendors. To achieve that, we're pulling together the technical how-to knowledge of TechTarget topic experts, business and strategy tips from channel veterans, technology and channel business news, and intelligence on the needs of business technology customers. SearchITChannel.com will provide the latest technology and business news relevant to channel companies, including coverage of vendors' partner and channel programs, and new products and technologies. In addition, we'll provide advice from channel experts on best practices for managing your relationships with vendors and customers, guides to packaging new technologies into sellable solutions, and case studies of successful (and not-so-successful) channel projects. On our weblog, Channel Marker, we'll track trends from around the industry, and post links to relevant content around the Web. The blog is also a place where we'll give you an opportunity to sound off about the topics of the day. Our four other channel sites focus on specific technology practice areas. SearchSecurityChannel.com focuses on information security products -- ranging from desktop antivirus protection to unified threat management (UTM) -- and on security consulting and services. This is where you'll find practical information on dealing with the latest threat vectors, providing customers with security services and trends in the information security industry. SearchNetworkingChannel.com is the site for solution providers to find how-to guides on designing, implementing and supporting wired and wireless networks, as well as the latest on products and partner programs from major network vendors and the emerging technologies that will drive demand from your customers.
