VMware adds new management tools to vCenter
VMware this week expanded the vCenter line with three new management tools: VMware vCenter AppSpeed, Chargeback and an updated Lab Manager.
Chargeback provides cost accounting, billing and reporting for virtual machines, and Lab Manager 4.0 has been collapsed into Stage Manager.
AppSpeed measures application performance by end-user response time and scans traffic moving across an ESX host's virtual switch.
Ingram Micro pushes new Secure Point of Sale bundle
VARs serving retail accounts might check out Ingram Micro's new SecurePOS (Point of Sale) SMB Bundle.
The offering integrates HP rp3000 Point of Sale System, MagTek MagneSafe Card Reader and Uniforce Technology software. SecurePOS encrypts the user's credit card data as soon as the card is swiped.
