Tech Data picks up Hitachi interactive whiteboards
Tech Data Corp. can now offer resellers StarBoard interactive whiteboards from Hitachi Software Engineering America Ltd. The interactive digital whiteboards aid classroom learning, courtroom demos and the discussion documentation. StarBoard content transfers to a desktop or notebook for archiving and sharing.
Tech Data will distribute Hitachi's wired and wireless FXDUO and FX series whiteboards, the T-17SXL interactive LCD display with StarBoard Software collaboration tools and the FreeFrame Mobile Stand system for supporting and positioning whiteboards and projectors.
Survey: Businesses starting to 'get' Enterprise 2.0
Business adoption of Enterprise 2.0 technologies has doubled in the last year, according to industry researcher AIIM. More than 50% of 789 knowledge workers surveyed said Enterprise 2.0 is important or very important to their companies' success.
Businesses now have a better understanding of how Web 2.0 technologies, such as wikis, blogs, communication forums and social networks, can improve collaboration and knowledge sharing. One quarter of them are implementing Enterprise 2.0 tools in all departments, compared to 12% in the 2008 survey. Only 17% do not know what Enterprise 2.0 is, down from 40% in 2008. A report on social media sites showed that 68% think professional networking on websites such as LinkedIn and Facebook is necessary for career growth.
