Symantec Corp. vice president of worldwide channel sales Julie Parrish calls in this week to talk about recent changes to the security vendor's deal registration program. Symantec Corp. has increased discounts for its Channel Silver and Corporate Reseller partners to 8% and increased the payment cap from $250,000 to $1 million. In addition, the deadline to close registered deals has expanded from six to nine months.

Parrish also discusses Online Backup Service and Online Storage for Backup Exec, the first two offerings in the new Software as a Service push by Symantec Corp. And she discloses the location of Symantec Partner Engage 2008. We're also joined by Al Monserrat, vice president of worldwide channels and emerging product sales for Citrix, who fills us in on all the news from Citrix Synergy '08 and reaffirms the partnership between Citrix and Microsoft.

Next time on the Partner News Podcast, Microsoft's Kees Hertogh will stop by the SearchITChannel.com studio to give a sneak preview of Dynamics AX 2009.
