LightCyber pursues interoperability, publishes APIs

LightCyber said its push toward interoperability with a broad ecosystem of security technologies will benefit partners; more IT channel news from the week.

LightCyber has introduced new APIs and a program to improve interoperability between Magna, its behavioral attack detection technology, and other security products.

The Technology Alliance Program launched with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Gigamon as partners, adding integrations with ArcSight ESM and the GigaSecure Security Delivery Platform. Additionally, LightCyber updated its previous integrations with Check Point Software Technologies and Palo Alto Networks.

David Thompson, senior director of product management at Israel-based LightCyber, called Technology Alliance a companion program to its Channel Alliance Program unveiled in August 2015. The Channel Alliance Program allows resellers and managed service providers (MSPs) to sell and wrap services around the company's breach detection platform.

"The [interoperability features] we build up ... are really helping support the channel efforts that have been taken," Thompson said. Additionally, the newly published APIs allow partners to custom-build integrations on behalf of mutual customers, providing "the opportunity for driving additional value out of ... the tools that customers already have," he said.

LightCyber also this week announced it has expanded into the EMEA market, establishing a European headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands, as well as a cloud for its Magna Cloud Expert System that complies with the EU Data Protection Directive.
