Distributor Tech Data Corp. has introduced a new education and enablement program that is focused on cloud. Available through Tech Data's TDCloud business unit and as part of TDCloud Academy, the new program provides solution providers with customized education tracks for launching, expanding and maximizing cloud businesses.

The Tech Data cloud education tracks -- "Launch Your Cloud Business," "Expand Your Cloud Business" and "Maximize Your Cloud Business" -- consist of six modules each. "Launch" covers the value of cloud, business drivers, value propositions and information on how to work with TDCloud to launch a cloud business, the distributor said. "Expand" focuses on creating a cloud culture, aligning people and processes, marketing, networking and more. "Maximize" focuses on transitioning to cloud, leading with cloud and creating complete cloud business models.
TDCloud's expert team offers value-added training, eLearning and consulting through the Tech Data cloud education program.
The distributor said it will evaluate and identify the appropriate education track for solution providers by using a partner evaluation tool, which is a self-scoring system that analyzes knowledge, business infrastructure and attitudes toward cloud computing.
Arrow expands Lenovo distribution agreement
This week, distributor Arrow Electronics Inc. signed a distribution agreement with Lenovo that authorizes it to become a distributor of Lenovo System X and related products in North America. The transition of IBM's System X server business to Lenovo went into effect on Oct. 1.
ThinkServer rack servers, tower servers and enterprise storage product lines are also available through Arrow. Low-end storage and associated networking products will be announced in the coming weeks.
Arrow will continue to support IBM solutions, services and programs that are not included in Lenovo's System X acquisition, the distributor said.
MSPAlliance gains financing programs for MSP, cloud provider members
GreatAmerica Financial Services Corp. has rolled out three new financing programs that are custom-built for MSPAlliance's MSP and Cloud Verify members.
The GreatAmerica programs have three tiers that parallel MSPAlliance's membership levels and provide benefits and rate structures accordingly. Members in the higher program tiers receive custom-branded documentation, higher rebates, lower lease rates and more up-front funding on projects.
The launch of the programs are a part of MSPAlliance's Unified Certification Standard program, which MSPAlliance designed to address the operational aspects of MSPs and cloud providers.
