At a Dell User Forum in Austin, Texas, last week, the company let it be known that it had appointed Bob Skelley as the new executive director of Dell channel sales in North America. His previous post, held since January 2008, was the executive director of the company's Global Certified Partner Program and channel programs.

In his new role, Skelley takes a leadership position, managing Dell's U.S. regional partners.
"As we expand our overall engagement with the channel, we asked Bob to take more of a leadership role," said Cheryl Cook, Dell channel chief.
Skelley fills the void left by Global Vice President of Channel Strategy and Programs Frank Vitagliano, who vacated his role as vice president of North American channels at Dell several months ago. At that time, Vitagliano was asked to work closer with Cook on Dell's overall global channel strategy in addition to the PartnerDirect program.
Skelley now reports to Jim DeFoe, vice president and general manager for North American global commercial channels at Dell.
