Microsoft launches competency for Internet of Things

A new Microsoft competency is being launched this month focused on the Internet of Things. Veeam names new channel chief of North America

Veeam Software this week announced the appointment of Chris Moore as channel chief of North America for the company. Moore has been with Veeam in a channel role for more than two years, following a stint at Hewlett-Packard Co. as a channel manager for the StorageWorks division. Before joining HP, Moore worked for a VAR for seven years, where his responsibilities included data center sales in the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S.

Arrow adds VMware's vCloud Hybrid Service in North America

Arrow Electronics Inc. this week said that it will offer VMware Inc.'s vCloud Hybrid Service to solution providers through the ArrowSphere cloud service brokerage platform. VCloud Hybrid Service provides automated replication, monitoring and high availability for applications without code changes, according to Arrow.

Tech Data to carry Soonr Workplace

Tech Data Corp. and file sharing vendor Soonr Inc. this week announced that Tech Data will distribute Soonr Workplace, an online file-sharing and collaboration service, to solution providers through the TDCloud business unit. The companies said that Soonr Workplace offers providers enhanced margin opportunities, recurring revenue and additional services sales.

Continuum issues conversion offer for Zenith Infotech customers

MSP software vendor Continuum Managed Services LLC this week said it will convert MSPs for free from Indian vendor Zenith Infotech Ltd.'s backup and disaster recovery products to Continuum Vault.

Continuum said it is making the offer in response "to the concern of MSPs regarding Zenith Infotech."

In December, Zenith Infotech was ordered to sell its cloud business to repay debt. According to published reports, the company laid off employees in December and is facing an April deadline to sell the business.

The conversion is performed using Continuum's BDR Revive reimaging tool. Continuum said Continuum Vault combines advanced backup and disaster recovery capabilities with intelligent remote monitoring and management. To take advantage of Continuum's offer, visit this page.

Zerto adds two training programs

Hypervisor-based replication vendor Zerto this week rolled out two additional training programs for its channel partners, one for sales staff and one for technical staff. The Zerto Certified Sales Training & Certification program covers market opportunities for Zerto software, features and benefits of Zerto Virtual Replication, and competitive offerings. The Zerto Certified Professional Basic Training & Certification program, meanwhile, provides step-by-step instructions for performing failovers, moves and clones. Both trainings can be accessed from the Zerto Partner Portal.
