HDS extends accelerator program for TrueNorth Partners
New archive, backup and consolidation (ABC) solution deals are now included in Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) Corp.’s accelerator program for TrueNorth Partners, the company announced this week.
To earn rewards, TrueNorth partner sales reps and engineers must complete the new ABC solution learning path and close sales transactions. According to HDS, exclusive partner rewards are for incremental deals that align with HDS strategic data management and cloud storage solutions.
HDS will also give incentives to partner professional service engineers who achieve Hitachi NAS Platform and/or Hitachi Content Platform Implementer certification.
Partners that qualify for the Hitachi TrueNorth Scholarship Program, announced earlier this year, may be eligible to receive the ABC training for free.
Westcon Group names new CEO
At Westcon Group, it’s out with old (five-year CEO Dean Douglas) and in with the new CEO (20-year-plus industry veteran Dolph Westerbos), the distributor announced this week.
Westerbos brings channel, services and operations experience to his new appointment, according to Westcon. He last worked for Brambles, a supply chain logistics services company, and has also worked for companies such as Dell -- where he held the title of vice president of solutions and services for EMEA -- as well as ModusLink.
Outgoing CEO Douglas is leaving the company. He helped Westcon expand its global footprint during his tenure.
New channel exec at Riverbed
On the heels of announcing upcoming changes to its partner program -- moving from a revenue attainment-based model to a competency-based model -- Riverbed Technology this week introduced Keith Hoskinson as its senior vice president, worldwide channels and strategic account programs.
The new senior channel executive will be responsible for Riverbed’s global partner strategy, execution and strategic sales programs.
Reporting to David Peranich, president, worldwide field operations, Hoskinson brings more than 25 years of executive sales and marketing experience in a broad range of IT markets, having worked for companies such as BMC Software, Aruba Networks, Cisco Systems and Enterasys. His last position was as vice president, strategic accounts at BMC.
Another acquisition for Anexio
Anexio Technology Services Inc. announced this week that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire BluWater, a provider of managed cloud and IT technology services in the South Florida market.
BluWater serves small and medium-size businesses and is the latest acquisition for Anexio, a provider of cloud and managed IT services. According to Tony Pompliano, CEO of Anexio, BluWater’s support team will remain in place to provide continuity of services to existing customers.
