Fujitsu recruiting VARs to sell iNetSec Smart Finder in North America

Fujitsu is branching out into network security products in North America and it's recruiting VARs to resell the iNetSec Smart Finder appliance.

Fujitsu Computer Products of America (FCPA) Inc., mostly known among U.S. resellers for its document scanners, today announced the launch in North America of the iNetSec Smart Finder network security appliance and the iNetSec Smart Finder Reseller Program.

According to Carmine Clementelli, product manager with FCPA, the company has laid the foundation for its new partner program and is looking to sign up partners across North America to sell iNetSec Smart Finder, which is being sold only through its channel partners.

To date, FCPA has signed up several partners but is looking to grow its program with partners experienced in networking, network security, configuration and support and who also have Windows Server knowledge.

iNetSec Smart Finder Reseller Program offers a number of partner benefits such as a discount program, deal registration, MDF funds accrual and marketing assistance, lead generation, demonstration units, education and training, and a partner portal.

iNetSec Smart Finder, a network security product sold in Japan for the past several years, offers a hybrid approach to network security, according to Clementelli. “The product intersects at the junction of network access control (NAC) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) or application security offerings both in one solution,” he said.

The network security appliance, the first security product sold by FCPA in North America, addresses the growing network security threats that businesses face as a result of the bring your own device (BYOD) trend and the applications users are downloading onto those devices.

With the increased numbers of employee IP devices sending data over corporate networks, companies need to ensure that their networks are protected from the inside out, noted Clementelli.

Smart Finder offers wired and wireless device discovery, classification and management, Layer 7 application control, and administrative monitoring.

The partner opportunity targets small and medium-size businesses, mainly in verticals such as healthcare and education but also in local government and accounting and finance.

The product is priced for the SMB market, beginning at $6,995, and is designed to support growing infrastructures and multi-segment networks with 3,000 endpoints available per appliance, according to the FCPA.

Other vendors in this space are Bradford Networks, Forescout Technologies Inc. and NetClarity Inc.

VARs and systems integrators who bring value to the table can get discounts on products and services of 20%, or 30% for partners who register a deal. Partners can also earn margin on maintenance and software renewals.

Product support, for both resellers and end users, is managed through Fujitsu. Professional services are also available.

The company will also offer 30-day trials to resellers and their customers, as well as onsite, classroom and web-based training.

Today’s product introduction is the launch of a new product line for FCPA, with product line expansion planned for the future. Clementelli said that the company will introduce the iNetSec Smart Finder product in other geographic markets as well.
