Ingram Micro simplifies sales of healthcare solutions
Ingram Micro Inc. is on a mission to make it simpler for channel partners to sell and service healthcare IT solutions. The distributor this week announced the Physician Outreach Total Solution, a menu off offerings that combine cloud-based solutions, hardware, software, services and financial programs.
The Physician Outreach Total Solution is built on a comprehensive framework of technology and service components specifically for the healthcare market. The categories of solutions offered through the program include infrastructure, document management, electronic health records (EHR), mobility, telehealth, cloud services/applications, IT support, and, HER assessment, HIPAA risk analysis and financial services.
This focused effort offers channel partners customizable, turnkey offerings that make it easier to build their healthcare practice. according to the distributor.

New web portal for TechSelect members
Tech Data Corp launched a more robust and improved TechSelect Community Portal this week.
The 400+ VARs in Tech Data Corp.'s national TechSelect Partner Community will now be able to access more applications, mobile device capabilities and simplified navigation, according to the distributor.
Other enhancements to the TechSelect Community Portal include additional functionality on the vendor microsites, resource and video libraries, events page and partner locator. News feeds and live social media feeds have also been updated.
Tech Data wants channel partners to have an improved and more efficient web portal experience as well as find it more informative with better communication capability, knowledge sharing and partnering among TechSelect members, according to Tech Data.
Lifetime Warranty 2.0 from HP
HP channel partners can now offer customers an enhanced HP Networking warranty at no added cost. This week, the vendor upped the ante on its HP Networking Warranty, now called Lifetime Warranty 2.0, with the addition of 3 year, 24/7 phone support for most HP FlexCampus, HP FlexBranch and Small Business products.
The enhanced warranty support builds on the lifetime hardware warranty replacement, that's included in the product purchase price, with next business day advance replacement available in most countries.
HP FlexCampus and FlexBranch are part of HPs FlexNetwork architecture that delivers open and standards-based scalability for security, agility and consistency, and includes core and access switches, routers, WLAN access points and WLAN devices.
The company's small business networking products include the following series of routers: the HP MSR93x; MSR900; MSR20; and, the MSR30.
The August 1st announcement also includes that introduction of Hardware Warranty 2.0 that extends 24x7 phone support to non-lifetime warranty products to match the hardware warranty duration of either one year or three years, according to the company.
Technical phone support is designed to help customers identify and resolve problems around installation, operation, engineering support and escalation management, critical issues, firmware updates, etc.
Avnet now an integration partner for Hitachi UCP in N.A.
Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS), Avnet Inc.'s global IT solutions distribution operating group, is the go-to place for channel partners looking for data center solutions that integrate Hitachi's Unified Compute Platform (UPC), Avnet announced this week.
Hitachi's UCP family is a portfolio of converged infrastructure solutions that combine best-of-breed storage, server, networking and software management into fully integrated packages designed for mission critical workloads, according to the vendor.
In July, Hitachi Data Systems Corp. announced enhancements to its UCP, one of which is Hitachi UCP Pro for VMware vSphere, UP Select for Microsoft Private Cloud, and UCP Select for Oracle Database Real Application Cluster.
According to Avnet, its agreement with HDS benefits channel partners by taking out the complexity of designing and developing solutions and enables partners to provider their customers with advanced solutions faster.
Integration work will be done at the ATS Global Solutions Center, an integration and logistics facility, located in Chandler, Arizona.
