Tech Data adds systems and peripherals division
Tech Data Corp. combined its former client systems and peripherals businesses and launched a new systems and peripherals (S&P) division that was recently showcased at the distributor’s expanded Solutions Center.
Tech Data said that the new S&P division -- with the theme “complete not complex” -- will focus on five growth areas: visual, imaging and print, power and energy management, computing, and consumer electronics.
Visual solutions offer large-format displays, desktop displays and cloud monitors, projectors, hardware mounts, and cables, etc.
The imaging and printing area includes content management solutions, desktop-distributed solutions and more for the capture, storage and distribution of customer IT assets.
Power solutions offer a range of products including clean power, uninterruptible power and backup power, and components for installation.
For anywhere computing -- home, office or on the road -- compute solutions include desktops, notebooks, tablets, netbooks, thin clients and workstations.
The new division also offers accessories for partners to sell as part of a systems and peripherals solution to increase margins.
The new division also has a new website, the S&P Solutions Hub, which features a live chat function so that channel partners can communicate with a dedicated sales team.
According to Tech Data, the S&P division is designed to help channel partners maximize sales and profitability via solution bundling.
Ingram Micro Mobility signs deal with BuyCell Wireless
Mobile device lifecycle services company Ingram Micro Mobility (IMM), an Ingram Micro company, entered an agreement in which IMM becomes the exclusive provider of mobile device distribution services for BuyCell Wireless Group (BCWG) LLC.
In addition to providing distribution services, IMM’s inventory planning and procurement processes will also be used by BCWG, according to Ingram Micro.
BuyCell Wireless Group is one of the country’s oldest and largest buying organizations providing equipment sourcing and support services to its members, which include more than 1,000 retail stores.
New marketing chief named at Intronis
An industry marketing veteran with almost 20 years of experience, Dun last served as vice president of marketing and strategy for Percussion Software.
According to Itronis, a partner-centric company, Dun will take charge of the company’s go-to-market strategy with the goal of increasing company growth and expanding partner development plans. More specifically, Dun will work with both marketing and sales teams to scale the company's demand generation efforts and boost brand visibility.
New channel exec appointment at Virident
Former EMC Corp. national channel manager and partner team leader for the software division, Dawn Marie Ruszel, is now the new senior director of worldwide channels at Virident Systems Inc.
The provider of enterprise-class storage class memory (SCM) solutions selected Ruszel, who has more than 10 years of channel sales experience, to help build out a channel program and form strategic partnerships.
Ruszel’s appointment is the fourth senior executive appointment at Virident this month. The company hired a vice president of engineering, a vice president of software development and a vice president of software product management.
