IBM launches social networking community for partners

IBM has announced the launch of a social network for partners to boost sales by allowing partners to easily connect and collaborate with each other..

Partners can build profiles and connect with other companies. IBM said the new PartnerWorld Communities encourages joint ventures that will allow better service to customers. The community, called "PartnerWorld Communities," features blogs, forums, social bookmarking and RSS feeds.

There are over 100,000 partners worldwide. IBM said the businesses could collaborate with other businesses on hot topics, such as cloud computing, green IT and economic stimulus projects. The social network gives the partners access to IBM subject matter experts to support sales leads and client implementations.

The PartnerWorld Communities project came together after IBM received feedback from 1,100 global partners on how to better grow their businesses.
