The on-again-off-again-off-again Microsoft pursuit of Yahoo has been a long-running saga, but with former Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang out of the driver's seat, some investors hope the deal will happen after all. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is slated to speak at the conference on Thursday.
EMC snaps up ConfigureSoft
EMC Corp. said yesterday it plans to buy Configuresoft Inc. in a deal that will add server configuration and change management software to EMC's line of storage and infrastructure products.
Financial details of the acquisition, expected to close in June, were not disclosed. EMC said Configuresoft will become part of its Resource Management Software Group, according to SearchSecurity.com.
