Why won't Microhoo go away?

Yahoo chief Carol Bartz remains open to a Microsoft deal provided the software giant proffers "boatloads of money," according to several news reports coming out of the All Things D lovefest in Carlsbad, Calif. on Wednesday.

The on-again-off-again-off-again Microsoft pursuit of Yahoo has been a long-running saga, but with former Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang out of the driver's seat, some investors hope the deal will happen after all. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is slated to speak at the conference on Thursday.
