Check Point, Nokia Security Appliance acquisition completed Staff

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. announced that its acquisition of Nokia Security Appliance has been completed, after the two companies shared a twelve-year partnership.

Check Point hopes the acquisition will lead to a more comprehensive set of security products. The company said Nokia's appliances will help boost its market share in the security appliance market.

Nokia, a major player in the fixed mobile convergence market, has 23,000 worldwide customers that will now have access to Check Point's firewall, virtual private network (VPN) and unified threat management (UTM) products.

Check Point and former Nokia appliances are available exclusively through VARs, and are available immediately.
