Unified messaging offers SMBs more than cost savings


The cost benefit of Voice over IP telephony is no longer the primary driver of VoIP deployments amongst SMBs.

has proven to be a business enabler for SMBs and an increasing number of businesses are taking advantage of this. Telephony shipments to SMBs will increase more than one-third this year, coupled with a 17% decrease in traditional telephony.

Businesses are finding that VoIP's unified messaging feature allows for greater efficiency that results in better customer service and location independence. But the payoffs -- especially cost -- come only after careful planning and implementation, which can take a year or more and should extend beyond the VoIP solution to ensure quality of service.
