VARs need to become familiar with various approaches to existing data deduplication solutions and how those solutions can integrate with client environments and address backup challenges. Using data deduplication can enable VARs to help clients reduce storage capacity and storage management cost while enhancing data protection and backup service levels. Key will be for VARs to align the right approach and implementation of data deduplication to client needs while validating manufactures claims and capabilities to customer expectations. In a nutshell, data deduplication enables VARs to offer new services to enhance customers backup and data protection capabilities.
