The Gold Award winner in the backup and DR software and services category was recognized for its
ability to dedupe data on tape and dedupe remote site backups -- and consolidate all deduplication
results in a database.
Disks
and disk subsystems
The Gold Award winner among disk and disk subsystems entrants provides mesh-active quad-controller
technology, thin provisioning ASIC and management software. It can also help convert fat volumes to
thin and keep them thin over time.
Storage
management tools
The Gold Award winner among storage management tools added analysis for SAN switches from Brocade
and Cisco, as well as better metrics for virtual machines (VMs) and storage, in 2009.

networking equipment
The Products of the Year storage networking equipment Gold Award winner can selectively apply
admin-created performance profiles to users and applications, to ensure adequate resources for them
and enable better confidence around scaling and tiering storage resources.
